It's a kind of abstract-neo/folk-haiku... but I'm not sure... I'm sure of nothing...

I made this composition with things I found in my everyday life in Oshima.
It's a poor material so I tried to make it bigger, better, more visible and beautiful, by putting it all together with positive emotional intentions.

I tried to recreate a poetical sculpture.

BEAT ON THE BRAT (With A Baseball Bat)

The title is first a wink to the Ramones'song... but the meaning is different than the song.
I made this installation to make fun with sport at school. When I was at school I hated sport.
So i use the bats like a sound object. When you hit the wall gently with the bat, it produces different musical notes that sound like bells.
I change the sport atmosphere into a musical/sound atmosphere.

For this work, I wanted to talk the impossibility of putting an end to my youth.
So I made those happy graves to say that even if I getting older, the way I behave is younger
than my age. I not only speak for me but also for all the people who don't want to be slave to
common sense about passing time.

I made this installation the second day I got to Oshima. I found the material in the school's storage room and I found it very exciting to recreate a kind of De Chirico's atmosphere. I wanted to evoke my first impression of Japan : huge and surrealistic feeling plus curiosity added
to a personal achievement. So I tried to recreate a dreamy landscape with Oshima's School objects and children Disney caps that I found in Marseille.
